FAMILY STRENGTHENING MONTH
join Hands for Kids in April!
Join Hands for Kids this April, and help strengthen Walworth County families! Formerly known as Child Abuse Prevention Month, we join hands in April to show our commitment to children and families.
Every family faces challenges, but also has strengths they can draw upon during difficult times. When communities work together to help build and celebrate these strengths, families feel more confident, less stressed, and better connected.
WAYS TO PARTICIPATE:
Offer a free or low-cost event, program, or resource for children or families in April! We will help spread the word by adding your information to the Family Strengthening Month Activities Calendar, sharing posts on social media, and including it in eblasts.
Join the Family Strengthening Month Committee! Current partner organizations include Career & College Academy. Geneva Lakes YMCA, Safe Families, Tree House Child and Family Center, and Walworth County Department of Health and Human Services.
Host a Family Strengthening presentation/discussion! Invite us to come to your school, business, agency, or organization to talk with your staff, members, students, and/or families about ways we can collectively strengthen families and help prevent child abuse in Walworth County.
Promote the 2023 Family Strengthening Sidewalk Chalk Virtual Art Gallery! Share/display information on this fun month-long virtual activity that’s open to artists of all ages and abilities, and encourage children, families, classrooms, and schools to “flex their creative muscle”! (See contact information below to request a copy of the flyer/information.)
Help spread the word! Request Family Strengthening Month materials (window clings, yard signs, swag, etc.) to display at your business or organization. You also can follow @JoinHandsforKids on Facebook and share posts with the hashtag #TogetherWeCan.
